If the police have your number, they can track your phone. If anyone has the identification app on their phone, the government can track your phone.
What is the difference? The police are restricted by law in using their powers of policing.
There is no mention what security or powers the government will have restricting abuse of the app and your electronic data and location.
And precisely how many mobile phones get hacked or stolen each year in Britain? What about the security around the app and phone? How do you prove to the government that your phone has been stolen, "well, I don't have it anymore. It's with the motorcyclist that nicked it off me."
Anyone who purposely employs illegal immigrants is just going to carry on doing so. How is this going to stop them?
At least with paper copies of identification papers, they are very difficult to reproduce. Electronic apps are easier to fake. How is this solving any of the problems?

I don't believe that this will be the end of politicians trying to introduce digital ID. It will be easier to control the people. How will digital ID prevent illegal migrants. Who is paying this guy to shilling this scenario. People can do everything now with current ID so why spend billions on digital ID. The billion dollar company that will roll out digital ID is former prime minister Tony Blair's son Euan Blair. The question is will the British people who have fought world wars for freedom give it away for a bit of convenience. I cannot believe that convenience is more important than freedom. God bless the British people. The powerful corporate interests behind this digital ID initiative will stop at nothing until every British citizen is under their control. Surely the answer to this is to just get processing ppl faster. We need working age ppl so just process them. Why can the home office not have a person at an hotel processing ppl surely 1 person could process 10 ppl a week, you could get through a hotel in a few months.
