Honestly, not enough people know their traffic laws. I know people want to blame the Californians, but in my experience, it been someone from a county in the rural part of Tennessee not following courtesy, such as zippering and not passing on the right. Also, there isn't a "fast lane", there is a passing lane. People have become too comfortable and distracted.

The roads are bad here

I sat in traffic for 4 hours in Atlanta every day going home. I ride that took 1 hr

I believe it in the bad part is it doesn’t matter if you leave 30 minutes earlier than you need to leave. It’s always a mess. Heck sometimes the afternoon traffic on 24 and 40 start at 2:30. It’s insane.

Wow, toll lanes. Make us pay out of pocket to fix the problem rather than use what we already pay in taxes to get buses or light-rail installed.

@lamars2486 November 17, 2025 - 11:14 am

People who work here cant aford to live here so they drive in from three countys away (thank you state legislatures). AND In a county with under a million residents, BUT over 20 million tourists, plus ubers, taxis … and it being THE MAJOR CROSSROADS OF THE USA. Keep cramming more in here. The city tax payers will pay for the trams, the toll roads, the smog removing fans and ANYTHING ELSE CRAZY as they sit stuck in the gridlock. People who move from flat earth places get paranoid too as they go over a hill at 65 mph. I guess we'll pay to blow out "concrete canyons" for the profit mongers next.😂😂😂😂

Privatizing our roads with toll lanes isn't going to fix this. Catering to the wealthy is what got us in this mess. Mayor Barry tried to address the fact that we were well over 10 years behind on the transit issue in 2016, and Republicans spent as much money campaigning against it as it would've cost to get 1/4 of it built. Republicans don't know how to govern.

If they took all the uninsured driver's off the roads in Nashville it would help. My daughter's car was totaled by a driver with no ID, no driver's license, no registration, and no insurance, who was drunk and run a red light. Around 24% of drivers in the state are uninsured.😢

Nashville traffic is full of too many inconsiderate entitled drivers and/or overly cautious drivers. There is a daily jam of cars on vietnam veterans and its always because you have people panic breaking or one person driving slow in the passing lane. If law enforcement would start issuing hefty citations for people who cruise in the passing lane, it would help the flow of traffic tremendously.

They’re only focused on racism and keeping they’re statues. That’s why everything else looks like shit

@antwanj3 November 17, 2025 - 11:14 am

That’s because all these new drivers can’t drive. The roads are not built to handle all these cars on the road. Just Nashville drivers are horrible.

I thought Governor bill lee signed a bill to build a toll road to go to downtown nashville to help with traffic

Trolley buses with exclusive lanes, commuter trains, separate bike paths and walkways, and toll roads for all the major highways.

@NickLai1225 November 17, 2025 - 11:14 am

Without a car, you can’t go anywhere.

@CreachterZ November 17, 2025 - 11:14 am

Get me a bus from Franklin to downtown several times a day.
