The reason why Republicans find it so easy to win elections, even when they are objectively inflicting catastrophe upon the country, while Democrats struggle to get anywhere, comes down to the messaging and conversation of their bases to the public.
Republicans talk about doing stuff (insert favoured right wing issue) for YOU, and demonise OTHER people (who are conveniently minority groups, non-voters, people with no power).
Sure they might actually end up doing some terrible things, but most people aren't paying attention anyway.
On the other hand, Democrats demonise YOU (think cancel culture, and any number of left-wing causes that ended up being anti-major voting blocs – anti business, anti men, anti moderates, anti-christian – the list of voting blocs the left wing base despises is goes on and on), and talk about doing stuff for OTHER people.

The lady who was asking the statistics guy questions had expressions on her face that were, I would say angry & negative toward the data that the gentleman was presenting. Almost as if she did not want to agree with it. I think that it would have presented a fair and balanced Evaluation
