Dear Newsnight.

No one takes Rory seriously anymore. We only tune in to see how wrong he turns out to be.

@WoldsWhite November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

It’s a shame he didn’t win the Tory leadership race.

@rolandrothwell4840 November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

Actually, in the last year of the Labour Government in the 1970s, there was a growth of 3.7% GDP. This is a figure we can only dream of today

@rolandrothwell4840 November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

Thatcherism was the genesis of the huge cleavage in inequality, which I presume Rory supported. Monetarism destroyed our manufacturing sector and caused an over reliance on the financial sector in London

@TonyFisherPuzzles November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

The man who tried his best to overturn a democratic vote is calling the people who thought it should be respected fascists? You really couldn't make it up.

@sebastianwrites November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

We pulled out of Afghanistan far too quickly instead of ensuring the job was done!
Then people cry out about troops losing their lives, but what about the innocent civilians there now?
I remember under the prior regime a beautiful young woman having her nose cut off, because she was accused of having an affair.

@sebastianwrites November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

The problem is Rory Stewart, as I've been saying for decades… the internet needs to be regulated, it's full of lies and disinformation, and it's "polarising" arguments!

The internet at it's 'best' is a wonderful thing, but when we allow it to be abused?

@sebastianwrites November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

But Rory, you don't compromise on the basis of "lies!" And Brexit was a lie… people realised they had made a mistake, so having a second referendum was not wrong.
And in respect of Donald Trump "tearing up the world, "whether it is Brexit, or President Trump… people vote for extremes too often, due to the false disinformation on the internet!
And this has to be addressed, the internet needs to have regulation as does all media to ensure it is fair.

@sebastianwrites November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

I agreed with Rory on 'everything' here until he said about a second referendum.

The referendum was based on lies…. as the results show. The right thing to do was have another second referendum, rather than impose the 'lie' of Brexit on people!

Victoria Darbyshire comes across as carrier hungry and insincere…

@publicinrage November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

The rich richer and consequencially everyone else poorer.
Economic dysfunction causes social fracture and social fracture causes economic dysfunction. Both sides of the same coin.
Your Tory politic is resposible for the brutality because the far right thrives on social fracture.
Your lot didn't tax the billionaires and Labour are too frightened to tax the billionaires
and far right Reform wants social fracture because they have nothing but their blame game of scapegoating 'them over there'.

The cure ? * Tax The Billionaires *

@publicinrage November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

The far right thrives on social fracture.

@NPC--666 November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

Its he and his fellow travellers that have lead to this state of affairs. Not all cultures are equal – the woke 'liberal' ideology doesn't take reality into account sadly

@godlikemonolith November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

This smiling fascist complaining about fascism. There is no difference. Labour – Tory – Reform – all neoliberal monsters. Look at Rory’s voting record, he is as bad as the rest of them. Crocodile smile.

@BoonDong November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

Why doesn’t the interviewer point out the OBR has calculated 80% of migrants are a net cost to the tax payer of £450K each? Oh it’s the BBC isn’t it.

@chrisevans9342 November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

For someone is suppposed to be a bit smart ,you need to have a chat with tommy and then you will get the best education you ever had …spoilt i call you

@andytraill November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

Very much would wish Rory was PM. Having an adult in the top job would be nice.

Edit: Scottish too but not gonna claim any braveheart glory hardly speak to my direct cousins not deliberately. "Allowed" to wear Fife tartan have I ever? No couldn't give less of a fuck, Rory is from a Clan I'm from a family unless there was a neighbour some point down the line where could be English (actually DNA says boring Scottish AF, Dad half Irish (which he neglected to mention until got the results), which I'm sure they all really care about.

@darklightdwr November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

Why do we give him a platform? All his big calls have been wrong.

@anneokelly8413 November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

He does sound Scottish!

@charlescaplan6168 November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

I have watched at least 60 hours of tommy Robinson and the accusations here are wrong

Tommy states that immigrants from Islamic countries that are illegal are involved to excess in violence .. so if you need workers get from sources that are proven more successful

That is commonsense..

Secondly tommy says increase pride in being british by culture ie folk music arrange guides for nature walks with explanation on wildlife and history pride of national history

As for break of contract of people from hong kong ect who gave settled successfully one cannot see tommy criticism against that nor of sikhs. Buddists

Islam is not a problem eg see the achmedis

but islamism eg via Muslim Brotherhood has. Been proven to be

@MurielDuncan-f6y November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

If only Rory Stewart was the Prime Minister the UK might have a better future…..

@Evemeister12 November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

Centrist dad unable to deal with the reality of the streets.

@MrHW54 November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

Rory Stewart is the voice of reason he should be on TV a lot more

@mikekelsall5859 November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

Heres the facts tony blair started opening the flood gates tories left them open and labour then opened them wider with more perks for illegal immigrants so the fact being Labour has allowed all this to happen.
Vote reform 👍🙏

@mikekelsall5859 November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

The problem is weak idiots like Rory Stewart he sits there like a snake hissing a load of crap 😂
Who is this mug anyway? Where has he been when tommy uncovered the Telford grooming gang cover up wjich was covered up by police and local government?
Basically Rory Stewart is a paid pawn selling his country out for money like starmer.

@michaelmccormick2948 November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

Just face the truth eh Tommy Robison is bang on with his views this guy is so pathetic the public can see what’s going on also what the problem is god bless the uk and the true brittish public❤️💯

@mogznwaz November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

Rory had completely lost touch with the real world. The so called ‘far right’ a response to decades of uncontrolled mass immigration from mostly Muslim countries and the people never consented to this and it has destroyed whole areas of the country including those who have even lost their lives because of it. Globalists like Rory are so brainwashed by ideology they cannot fathom the sense of national identity and rootedness normal people feel towards their country. It’s OURS. We refuse to become an Islamic state or a globalist mush. He just doesn’t get it.

@thesedreamsarefree November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

One of the best descriptions of modern politics I've come across is in Martin Wolf's 'The Crisis of Democratic Capitalism'.

@josephaquilina3810 November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

As a royalist, he supports peado protectors, so like many royal supports their opinions have no value.

@AnnetteAlmond November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

He make sense to me 👍

@Hunter-ty7so November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

This man wants open borders for Britain. He thinks we should bring millions of Afghans here. He is the danger, not tommy

@Bungadin2845 November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

So border control is extremist but clamping down on free speech, demographic replacement and digital ID is not?
Got it 👍🏻

@marynally6753 November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

Please go away, Antarctica perhaps. Live in an igloo for a while. Just do something else because no one is listening to you

@jwoodzman November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

This is the most frank and honest conversation I’ve heard for many years

@phill2882 November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

Old Etonian entitled white dude who had power and
…..is he still relevant? As well as entitled.

@dylanmenzies3973 November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

Simplistic critique of Tommy Robinson will backfire. The debate is not about race or even culture, its about values. A population can't operate when values become fragmented.

@IMFixIt November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

‘Why is Tony Blair involved?’…….Power and money

@davidmccann8937 November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

He self diagnoses moderately correctly: admits he was working against rather than for anything, while he was a government MP. He had a duty, while there especially, to do positive, actual, developmentally useful, good, things. And he didn't, or didn't do enough of them, or the party he was responsible for–and was elected on the back of–didn't do enough to build the alternative. You have to sell and actually promise something, not just be some pure, naive backward-looking objector.

@JDR_ZA November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

Doesn't this guy live in a secure and safe, mostly white neighbourhood. Damn, he sure is "embracing" the immigrants. Hypocrite!

@pablohornby1658 November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

How should we willingly embrace another growing culture within ours that has very different values and does not integrate and has a very long violent history of replacing Christian cultures and is their mission given to them by their prophet that dishes out atrocities and terrorism on that hellish journey they impose on others?

@DanielBeard-un2fg November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

About migration. It's really really simple. Instead of justifying it by saying we need younger people over to work in sectors struggling when it's poor pay and conditions forcing our young uns to be on the dole. So it doesn't solve the problem and only causes more unarrest within communities and doesn't tackle the welfare bill. This is why I hate the country I'm born from because it's corrupt and goes against the British people every time

@zehrag3781 November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

Call it what it is….nazionism

@LightLeaks-f6s November 4, 2025 - 4:18 pm

Wow, the edit scheme of that naff introduction is an absolute disgrace. The BBC has fallen soooo far.
